Paris Men Fashion Week SS16

Arguably the most prestigious and anticipated fashion week of all – Paris – The City of Lights had us completely baffled. Taking into account that it was here that couture fashion was conceived – the connoisseur of elegance and chic, we saw a totally different side to the Parisian shows. The key trends we have taken note of are statements in their own right and the definition of raw, beautiful masculinity and how a man should dress.

Pale colours:

The conventional idea of summer is to blast colours onto fabric, but these ghostly angels and their pale colour pallets have sprinkled innocence into summer. Light floaty shades and crisp whites are the essential shades that radiate well-groomed gentlemen and omit light. You might even catch a tan off of these materials.

Bomber jackets:

Loosely fitted, curved shouldered and zippers are all elements of this boyish look. Bomber jackets have been seen on the runway for a number of seasons but in Paris there was more attitude, more testosterone with a side of sass.

Printed suits:

From vintage montages to gothic woodland scenes, these prints were works of art in their own stride. Stepping into the world of colourful and emboss patterns it was as if the fabrics had a body of their own and stories to tell.

Summer 2016 may seem like a lifetime away, but we cannot wait to see these trends on our streets. The laid back chic and male defiance goes hand in hand and who’d have thought that it would have been ‘prestigious Paris’ to be showcasing these vibes. Forever cemented amongst the great fashion capitals – the city of lights never disappoints. Au revoir Paris – until next time.
