The Best Beauty Looks From London and Paris AW21 Fashion Week

Hair and Beauty Trends From London and Paris AW21 Fashion Week

From historical pin curls to abstract eye makeup, we’re giving you the full scope of the most noteworthy hair and beauty trends seen on the Paris and London RTW catwalks for AW21.

Blunt bangs

Funky fringes have been the radical hairstyle across the last few fashion weeks. And the cut is still circulating, as we saw many top Parisian and British designers continue to celebrate bangs. Whereas in previous season designers have paired their work with messy and curly fringes, a common theme for the fall collections was a blunt cut.

Chanel used solid fringes to complement their statement and assertive looks. The models also donned gurney eye makeup, giving an edge to the classic tweed ensembles.

The Louis Vuitton show was filled with block colours and prints, making block fringes the perfect choice of hairdo.

Fabulousness rippled through the Lanvin collection. The collection was shot in a glamourous Parisian hotel and used Gwen Stefania’s Rich Girl as the backing music to the digital video. The chic collection sets the scene of stunning millennials about to embark on a night out in Paris’ boujeest bars. The block fringes were a flawless accompany to the sleek and sexy collection.

Headscarfs and headbands

An extension of embracing face covering, headscarves made an impression this season. Maybe designers have sussed out that consumers probably aren’t washing the hair as regularly as we once used to, with so much time spent at home. Either way, as much as we love to see beautiful hair at CrozNest, we are excited by this accessory trend. Christian Dior stole the show, producing a collection filled with patterned headscarves, including the classic Dior monogram print.

Wrap up. Mui Mui was a ski inspired collection. The collection of bold and displayed a range of colours and materials, where the key accessory was knitted balaclavas.

London fashion house, Erdem took a similar approach. Although the collection was more ballet chic than skiing in the alps, designer Erdem Moralioglu made knitted headscarves the statement winter accessory for his fall collection. Possibly a practical addition to the girly, strapless dresses, the simpleness of the grey and black knit headscarves were a perfect tamer for the whimsical garments.

Pin curls

In true Vivienne Westwood fashion, a historical period was met with underpinning political messages and contemporary styles. The collection was rococo inspired, taking inventiveness from the work of French artist, Francois Boucher. Alongside rebellious prints and English tailoring, tight pin curls were the ideal hairdo for the story behind the show. Not only were pin curls appropriately used for the time period of the 18th century, but they also enhanced the beauty of the models.

Acrylic hues and abstract silhouettes were presented at the Loewe show. Models sported the 70s inspired hairdos, including statement helmet like pin curls.

Artful eyes

Whilst Giambattista also embraced block fringes, beauty for the show was centred around the colourful eyes. Makeup artist, Helene Vasnier worked with Mac Cosmetics to created abstract eye looks. Vasnier used green and blue shades of eyeshadow to complement the monochrome looks.

It wouldn’t be a Molly Goddard show without bright colours and voluminous garments. Her notorious tulle pieces bounced perfectly with the fluffy permed hair, giving us 1980s vibes. The playfulness of the collection is further complemented by overused bright pink blush in conjunction with a red lip.

Ombre lips, gold clips

Daniel Roseberry’s most recent collections for Schiaparelli, have been a phenomenon in the world of fashion. His innovative ideas and rich designs are loved by many. His AW21 collection exemplified 1990s glamour. Together with the chunky shoes, tweed suiting and ombre lipstick, the collection reflected the Thierry Mugler Fall 1995 Haute Couture collection. Mugler’s collection was notorious for the gold corset and bleach blonde hair. We wouldn’t be surprised if Roseberry took impressions from this collection to add to the 1990s vibe, showcasing similar hairstyles and implementing gold accessories throughout.
