Since forever we have decorated our locks with glitter, jewels, bands, clips, scrunchies, hair pieces, brooches, tiaras – the list goes on and on and on. Recently we have noticed a fair few fetching hair accessories that are being worn on the runway, red carpet – but not enough on London streets! Effortless tresses can be enriched with simple accessory dressing and trust us when we say, it’s not as scary as it sounds. Although Madge looked top notch back in the 80’s with her massive head bands and rainbow head scarves we’ve opted for some subtle looks that are just as eye catchy. Barnet watchers we have:
- The silky head slide
An easy accessory to enhance any day to day bun – low or high. Slide it in and slide it straight back out no messing around with this little beauty. We suggest loose chignion with this funky number placed on top and pushed down into the bun. Pictured above is the beautiful abstract hair slide from Peter Pillotto. Abstract hair accessory were a vivid yes in the Alexander Mcqueen shows this season!
2. The hair clamp
So this solid clamp not only smartens a low pony tail but it can give your high pony a mega oomph leaving it super fierce. Rose gold and aztec hues look fabolous for this accessory – this is one of Jennifer Behr’s master pieces. A high super slicked long ponytail would be perfect for a clap of this stature – a powerful little accessory! Osman favoured these pony-pieces for their winter shows.
3. The hair jewels
Regal, elegant and just in time for the festive season, hair jewels dripping from beautiful barnets are just too perfect. Where them up or down with tousled tresses and you’re onto a winner. These tiny bombshells are Topshop’s own and we just love ‘em as seen on Ashley Williams’ catwalks. Try loose curls and some twists through the top and these sliding jewels nipped at the ends.
Three of our favourite little hair gems that are super easy to use and add a little something to bold barnets without over doing it! They can be as dainty and tiny as a cheery on a cake or as loud and proud as a garland of festive delights either way hair accessories are one of the only things that never go out of fashion! Until next time barnet watchers.
