Our latest gem works in studios across London and has the natural nak of creating tremendous tresses. His latest editorial focuses on the warm and seasonal hues of autumn – not to mention the 90’s Calvin Klein vibe. Shadowy lighting, denim and sheer matte skin are perfect matches but what really brings the magic to this piece is the hair. A relaxed Jane Birkin-esc beauty nymph looks cool and calm with 3 looks – wavy pin back, loose nape bun and some hanging waves. How can we achieve these stress free hair dos? Well, Josh?
“These looks are super easy. It’s all about capturing your natural texture. Use products that can make your hair lighter like a Surf Spray and go. I always use a Surf Spray on dry hair as I find it works a lot better.”
Goodwin has perfected the textured theme but is on the path to experimenting with new styles and techniques based on the fun loving side of fashion.
“I’m currently doing research into vintage vogue editorials from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s made me realise that the world of fashion used to be so much fun. It feels like people are so serious in the recent years, so I’m really appreciating work that looks like the creatives have really enjoyed themselves.”
This hair dresser is not only well on his way to session perfection, but he is able to juggle 3 beautiful children and a fast pace career in fashion. Woah Joshua.
“Session will always be my sweetheart. It makes me want to push myself – even more so now with my 3 gorgeous kids. I’m working with some great people and just loving how the creative energy grows organically. I’m so grateful to be a part of Syd Hayes’s core team. We have some incredibly talented people within the team.
Balance for me is key, and also the biggest challenge.”
We’re so totally in love with this relaxed and fun editorial and cannot wait to see what he conjures up next. Josh Goodwin we salute you and you’re fabulous work!
