Our S/S 15 beauty editorial which also follows into highlights from pre-fall 15 is photographed by Helen McArdle and styled by Tasha Arguile. Featuring 4 key trends, 4 hair raising barnets, and 4 mood-enhancing make up techniques. Talk about being spoilt for choice this season as 4 is the new magic number. These are the styles that will take you from day to night or for you party animals, from night to the early hours of the morning.
Kick starting the show is the 80’s Joan Jett inspired look and we love rock’n roll. By adding silver shimmer to that smudgy eye liner and shoulder- kissing earrings gives a vibe from the previous decade and adds some glam to that edge. This theme was dominant throughout Tom Ford’s SS15 shows. Deepen that side parting and back comb, keep the leather loose and sharpen those talons and you’re good to go. Nothing gets the party started better than a girl who knows how to rock it.
Fresh faced and full of life, this frisky look is great for the day and even the night. By twirling a high pony tail will keep the playful vibes and leave a middle parting with some cheeky loose ends to relax the face. Frame those eyes with a thin stroke of eye liner and keep the nails matte white to give the impression of innocence. To round up this bouncy style, add a pop of colour as seen on the spring trench jackets at Burberry Prorsum – or even a lollipop!
Who said sporty had to be unsophisticated? Tish tosh! The only way to do sporty this S/S is to smarten it up with a middle-slicked parting, but keep the ends fluffy and free. Monochromes with a splash of red are like two peas in pod. Preen sported this vibe and added a colourful rucksack to the equation. The contrasting hair textures, flawless colour splash and loose-fitting sheer attire will leave any love interest curious as to why you’re on the other side of the room.
Last but by all means not least is the sultry and elegant 4th trend. The key to this look is to keep the locks flowing with indulgent waves and a full eye-lid of shimmering violet. This effortless hair was perfected on a handful of models in Chanel’s SS15 shows. Swap the avant garde for soft and feminim vintage frocks. The violets go hand in hand with nudes and brown so the traditional autumn palette is the new spring and summer one. Step to it and immerse yourself in sensual lavender.
