Ashley Isham the Singapore-born designer presented his exquisite collection, featuring stunning evening gowns. Not keeping to a colour pallet and showcasing the gowns in several lavished tones gave off different looks, each individually gorgeous. Recognized for his sharp tailoring Ashley confidently shows us on some garments he is mixing class with casual. This collection reflected his artistic flow and how extremely diverse he is.
The second the striking model appeared on the runway in a shimmering golden gown fit for the Oscars, It was obvious this show was not to disappoint.
Every model was dressed in his trademark high glamour style gown wearing a daring statement headpiece, which added that extra wow factor. The dramatic headpieces really created an extra edge for Ashley, some tall and covered in diamantes and some extravagant long fringe veils, which covered the models faces. This made us more intrigued to see what was coming next and hooked on the next look.
These contemporary, flamboyant yet stylish gowns were the living proof of why Ashley was the Offical Designer at the 2004 BAFTAs, simply stunning.
Even though the collection was quite clearly glamour, Ashley isn’t afraid to test the waters and experiment. Adding quirky details to garments such as pom-poms, fringing and conflicting blanket stitches giving the thought his inspiration was ‘Grans living room’ (obviously the trendiest nan in the world!)
